Send from your custom address in Gmail

Google says Gmail's third-party Send mail as support ends in January 2027. Availability of new setups may vary during the transition. Forwarding to your Gmail inbox continues; for ongoing sending, use Thunderbird or Apple Mail. These steps apply only while Gmail offers this option.

  1. On a computer, open Gmail's Settings → See all settings → Accounts and Import → Send mail as → Add another email address.
  2. Enter your display name and full custom email address. Clear Treat as an alias, then continue.
  3. Set the SMTP server to smtp.improvmx.com, port 587, and select TLS. Use your full custom address as the username and the SMTP password from Kavyar's secure link. This is not your Google password.
  4. Submit the setup and open Gmail's verification message in your forwarding inbox. Follow its link or enter its code to confirm.
  5. Compose a test message, select your custom address in From, and send it to a different inbox. In Send mail as settings, you can choose a default sender and whether replies use the address that received the message.

If the option is missing or Google rejects a new setup, use a supported mail app. Do not turn off TLS or change your Google account security to work around it. See the custom email overview for secure-link help.
